Divas That Care Network · Healthy Homesteading Adventures

Hi! I am Tamara Luevano. I was born in Lakewood, CA and raised in Long Beach, CA by my father, who was a commissioner in family law and my mother, who was a general surgeon and burn specialist.

I had an early love for animals and especially horses.

I wanted to have a farm. When I was 7, they bought 7 acres in Fallbrook, CA and I got my first taste of buying raw land and homesteading on it.

I much preferred the country to the city.

I will probably be sharing some of this part of my life because it all prepared me for the life I live now.

Because of my love for animals, I wanted to be a veterinarian and ended up becoming a vet assistant and then a vet technician instead.

This has given me the experience needed for sharing with you how I keep my vet bills down and don’t rush to the vet for every little thing.

I also had some wildlife experience at a place called the Wild Animal Training Center.

I have a B.S. degree in Biology/Zoology and went on to get an A.S. degree for Physical Therapist Assistant which I have been doing since 1992.

I love working in skilled nursing with the older generation teaching the importance of exercise to get regain strength after illness or surgery.

I am on my own and have learned many things on how to homestead off-grid.

What has motivated me to start a blog?

Over 3 years ago, my daughter’s boyfriend, Greg, suggested that I do it.
